What You Need To Know

Phased Reopening of the Disneyland Resort Set to Begin April 30, 2021.
While the Disneyland Resort is currently closed, we are pleased to share the proposed plans for a phased reopening:
Disneyland Resort Phased Reopening and Important Information
  • Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure park will reopen on April 30, 2021. View important details about park admission and tickets.
  • To enter a park, both a park reservation and valid ticket, for the same park on the same date, are required for Guests age 3 and older. Until further notice, only California residents may visit the parks, and in groups no larger than 3 households, per state guidelines.
  • Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will reopen on April 29, 2021. The Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel remain closed and will reopen at a later date. View important details about Disneyland Resort hotels.
  • The Downtown Disney District is open with select retail and dining locations.
  • A Touch of Disney, the new limited-time ticketed experience at Disney California Adventure Park, which has sold out, will go on as planned through April 19, 2021.
  • Upon reopening, certain parks, hotels, restaurants, attractions, experiences and other offerings will be modified or unavailable, will have limited capacity and will be subject to limited availability or even closure, and park admission and offerings are not guaranteed. While You Wait

There's still a lot of time before Disney parks are open so what can you do to get your Disney fix while the parks are closed? We're big Disney fans and have compiled a list of some fun ways to pass the time.

  • If you haven't already done so, you have to watch 'The Imagineering Story' on Disney+. This 6 part documentary series takes you behind the scenes with the very Imagineers that developed and built the Disney theme parks. 
    This documentary was created by non other than Leslie Iwerks, Adademy Award-nominated filmmaker and granddaughter of Ub Iwerks, Walt Disney's oldest friend who created Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Mickey Mouse alongside Walt.

Alice in Wonderland

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Legend has it that soon after gold was first discovered here in the 1850s, eerie things began to happen. Trains would take off and race through tunnels—by themselves.

After you arrive at the legendary Big Thunder Mining Company, descend into an abandoned mine shaft and board your train. As you enter the cursed cavern, the engine speeds up along the rickety track. Dodge exploding dynamite and falling boulders as you swoop around turns, drop into canyons and dart through the mysterious ghost town of Tumbleweed.

Your rip-roaring adventure proves that some legends are true. You’re sure to have a real blast!

Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters

The Evil Emperor Zurg is stealing batteries to power a new weapon of destruction, and Buzz Lightyear—from the Disney and Pixar's Toy Story movies—needs your help! 

Maneuver your XP-40 space cruiser through the shadowy Gamma Quadrant and beyond. Face down Zurg and his rampaging squad of robots and fire at will! Use the joystick to spin a full 360 degrees and blast glowing “Z” targets with your laser cannon to earn points.

Casey Jr. Circus Train

Ride the rails aboard a festive circus train pulled by brave little engine Casey Jr.—from the classic Disney animated movie Dumbo. Wend your way over happy hills and through verdant valleys to behold familiar dwellings and villages—amazingly rendered in miniature scale. 

Along the way, Casey Jr. faces his biggest challenge: an impossible hill. We think he can make it—do you think he can?

Chip 'n Dale Treehouse

There's a party up in the old Redwood tree—and you're invited! Step through a carved entryway and climb the winding spiral staircase into the heart of the tree Chip ‘n Dale call home. At the top, you'll be rewarded with a treetop view of Mickey’s Toontown.

Davey Crockett's Explorer Canoes

Named after the legendary 19th century icon, Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes lets you travel back to a time when water was the way to go. 

The 20-passenger vessels are real, free-floating canoes; there is no motor and no track. Modeled after the boats that early Native American and European explorers used, these 35-foot-long canoes are powered entirely by paddles.

Disneyland Monorail

Enjoy incredible, one-of-a-kind views on this classic 2.5-mile, 13-minute round-trip journey.

Between the Tomorrowland and Main Street, U.S.A. stations, a special treat awaits! See Walt Disney’s legendary dioramas of the Grand Canyon and Primeval World – Land of the Dinosaurs, where you’ll encounter a thrilling prehistoric land of towering Audio-Animatronics dinosaurs come to life.

Donald's Boat

Check out Donald’s favorite photos, his seaworthy rain gear and where he sleeps below deck. Then, climb a spiral staircase to a higher landing and spin the Captain’s Wheel, ring the boat bell and pull the ship’s whistle to trigger water spouts on deck.

At the top, take in panoramic views of Mickey’s Toontown. Donald’s Boat may make you never want to be a landlubber again!

Dumbo the Flying Elephant

Based on the 1941 Disney animated masterpiece Dumbo, this classic attraction lets you hop atop everybody’s favorite circus elephant as he discovers he can fly. Dumbo’s faithful friend Timothy Q. Mouse helps keeps you aloft with his “magic” feather. 

As the jubilant organ melody begins, lift off for a graceful cruise around (and around and around) Storybook Circus.

Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage

With all the humor and heart of the original film, this immersive submarine ride takes you on an unforgettable ocean adventure—to find a missing clown fish.

Climb down into a yellow research submarine operated by the Nautical Exploration and Marine Observation Institute (N.E.M.O.). 

Peek through the portholes as you sail past scuba divers and artifacts of an ancient civilization scattered along the seafloor.

Some familiar fins soon swim into view: it’s Nemo and his turtle pal, Squirt, with Marlin and Dory hot on their trail. During your underwater adventure, you’ll encounter other friends from the movie, including Bruce the Shark, Mr. Ray, Gill, Bubbles, Pearl, Peach, Crush and more—and thanks to special “sonar hydrophones,” you can hear what everyone’s saying!

Fortune Tellers

Stroll into the Penny Arcade and prepare for a few minutes of prophetic fun that only costs a quarter! Guests of all ages are in for a mystical treat when they visit the Great Esmeralda, an Audio-Animatronics fortune-telling attraction loved by generations of park aficionados. Though her results are always random, each of Esmeralda’s fortune cards includes a prediction… and perhaps, the keys to your dreams. Start your own tradition and collect one each time you’re at the park!

Frontierland Shootin' Exposition

Mosey on up to a rustic log cabin and hoist a replica .54-caliber Hawkins buffalo rifle to your shoulder. Peer through the scope and see legendary Boot Hill in Tombstone, Arizona—a notorious Old West town.

With nearly 100 interactive targets, the setting provides a picture-perfect backdrop to test your marksmanship.

Blast away at a bevy of highly detailed moving and stationary targets. When you hit one, you'll be rewarded with entertaining lights, sounds and animations. Some animations even have a supernatural twist!

Gadget's Go Coaster

Climb aboard a train made of acorns and get ready for a wild ride! Race around the winding track Gadget Hackwrench crafted using oversized “found objects.” Enjoy panoramic views of Mickey’s Toontown on a whirlwind trip around Toon Lake.

Be on the lookout for a happy green frog who likes to spit a stream of water directly over your head!

Goofy's Playhouse

Galumph through a wacky garden planted with popcorn cornstalks, spinning flowers, carved pumpkins and bell peppers—that really are bells. Peer up at the slapdash shack and spy a certain green hat hanging on one of the gables.

Head into the blinkered building and explore Goofy’s silly style. Take a peek inside his crazy cupboards. Play a piano specially designed to make Goofy noises instead of notes.

Goofy’s our kind of guy—and he’s inviting kids of all ages over to play!

Haunted Mansion

The disembodied voice of the Ghost Host is your private guide through the cadaverous realm of an eerie haunted estate, home to ghosts, ghouls and supernatural surprises. 

Glide past a casket-filled conservatory, Madame Leota’s chilling séance room and a ghostly graveyard of singing specters as you attempt to find your way out. Beware of hitchhikers—these phantom pranksters may follow you home.

Indiana Jones Adventure

Follow Indy’s footsteps into the crumbling Temple of the Forbidden Eye past intricate booby traps. Inspect carvings and frescos that tell the story of Mara, a powerful deity who promises great treasures—and vengeance to those foolish enough to gaze into its all-seeing eyes.

Brave Unimaginable Perils

Behold a cast of dancing darlings from nearly every corner of the globe and watch as the Audio-Animatronics figures achieve universal harmony as they sing one song in many languages.

Jungle Cruise

Embark on a river cruise where dangerous beasts and dry wit abound. Board a canopied tramp steamer piloted by your trusty skipper, who will expertly navigate you through some of the world’s most treacherous waters.

Steam past lush foliage, butterflies and waterfalls on the Amazon in South America. Glimpse an abandoned camp overrun by curious gorillas on the shores of the African Congo. 

Along the Nile, watch for bathing elephants, angry hippos and hungry lions. Be on the lookout for a tribe of headhunters recently spotted in the area. Your cruise continues down the Mekong River in Asia, home to baboons, cobras and other fearsomely life-like creatures.

King Arthur Carrousel

Make your way beneath a vibrant medieval tent in the castle courtyard and select one of 68 ornately carved, hand-painted horses—or take a seat in the fanciful chariot.

As classic Disney tunes play from the old-fashioned fairground organ, show off your horsemanship as your prancing pony glides up and down.

During the whimsical journey, relive the classic Disney animated fairytale Sleeping Beauty through a series of 9 hand-painted vignettes on the inner rounding board above the horses—and watch your own fairytale come to life!

Mad Tea Party

Main Street Vehicles

Climb into a classic chassis and sit back and relax as you are transported from one end of Main Street, U.S.A. to the other. 

Our vintage vehicles include: 

  • Horse-Drawn Street Car, an old-fashioned trolley pulled by a horse 
  • Jitney, an early automobile without a roof 
  • Fire Engine, a replica of the very first fire trucks

Mark Twain Riverboat

Board an old-fashioned steam-powered vessel for a half-mile journey into the heart of the American frontier. 

During the charming, 14-minute trip around Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island, spot delightful sights along the river’s edge, including: 

  • The north bank of the Columbia Gorge, complete with a beautiful waterfront and 5 sparkling waterfalls 
  • A rustic frontier cabin 
  • An idyllic Native American village 
  • A busy beaver at work chewing on the train trestle 
  • Mountain lions relaxing in the sun 
  • The Disneyland Railroad steaming into the wilderness 

Matterhorn Bobsleds

Climb into a 6-person bobsled and brace yourself against howling winds as you ascend 80 feet up into an icy cave. Take in the sweeping views at the summit and prepare for a thrilling, high-speed ride. 

Swoop in and out of shadowy caves and along jagged rocky ledges. Throttle through snowy chutes and around frozen precipices. Fly across bridges and under waterfalls before splashing down into an alpine lake. 

The real peril is not snow or sleet! Stories abound of a growling creature known as the Abominable Snowman—who will do anything and everything to protect his home.

Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run

Ride in the famous cockpit of the Millennium Falcon on a daring flight—and whether you’re a pilot, engineer or gunner, every role is crucial.

The engines rumble as the Millennium Falcon blasts off, pushing you and your crew back into your seats when you jump into hyperspace towards adventure. Along the way you’ll face danger at every turn.

Minnie's House

Step right in to Minnie Mouse’s house and discover sweet surprises in every room. Open the refrigerator and find every cheese known to "mouse-kind." Make a cake in the oven rise and fall with the turn of a knob. You can even try Minnie's sweetheart-shaped computer.

On your way out, be sure to visit the talking wishing well in her backyard—Minnie has a special message for you.

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride

Enter the lavish English manor house known as Toad Hall and hop into a 2-person, open-air buggy. 

Skid past teetering stacks of books in the library and barrel through a fireplace—before hurtling into a formal dining room. Careen through a wall-sized window and race past a riverbank, narrowly missing a flock of sheep. 

While avoiding a platoon of policemen, crash through scaffolding, splatter a stack of pies, smash crates and ignite a fiery explosion—but look out for that train! 

Will you escape trial for your trail of destruction? Or is something even more devilish in store?

Peter Pan's Flight

Board your pirate galleon and follow Peter Pan as he beckons you to join him on the flight of a lifetime. Wave goodbye to Nana and join the Darling children on a gentle cruise over London, where Big Ben and Tower Bridge light up the night sky.

Pinocchio's Daring Journey

Hop aboard a woodcarver’s cart at the Stromboli Puppet Theatre, where Pinocchio is singing and dancing in a festive marionette show. 

Escape the clutches of the nefarious puppet-master Stromboli, with help from the kindhearted Blue Fairy. Follow the boy puppet as he ventures to ominous Pleasure Island, against the warnings of his loyal friend, Jiminy Cricket. 

When they make their escape to the sea, a new danger awaits: mighty Monstro the Whale! Will Pinocchio find his way back to his maker Gepetto—and become a real boy?

Pirate's Lair onTom Sawyer Island

Travel by log raft across the Rivers of America and retrace the steps of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn when they ran away to live carefree lives as pirates. 

Wander quiet paths shaded by sycamore and oak trees and enjoy scenic views of the riverbanks. Cross creaky suspension bridges in Smuggler’s Cove. Dare to explore the haunted caves of Dead Man’s Grotto. Climb through a fort built by the frontier’s early settlers. 

As you explore, look out for the long-lost pirate treasure rumored to be hidden on the island!

Pirates of the Caribbean

Board a weathered barge for a treacherous voyage to the 17th century, when rowdy rogues and ruthless rapscallions ransacked Caribbean seaport towns. Sing along as pirates serenade you with their anthem, “Yo Ho, Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me).”

Sail past haunted Dead Man’s Cove. Navigate cannon fire between a Caribbean fort and a striking 12-gun galleon. Behold boisterous buccaneers drunk on the spoils of plunderin’ as flames engulf a seaside town.

Roger Rabitt's Car Toon Spin

Catch a ride in a taxi and follow Roger Rabbit and Benny the Cab as they race through Toontown in search of Jessica Rabbit. Beware—the villainous Weasels are pouring slippery Toon-melting Dip in the paths of passing vehicles—including yours! 

Crash and dash into Bullina’s China Shop and slip and slide through the Power House. Spin wildly into the Gag Warehouse storage area, where the Weasels are waiting to take aim at your cab.

Sailing Ship Columbia

Board the 110-foot-long, fully rigged Columbia and sail away into a long-forgotten time. Marvel at the towering mainmast and inspect the cannons and deck-mounted guns the crew used to repel pirate attacks.

As you cruise around Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island, relive the pioneering adventures of the original Columbia, the first American ship to circumnavigate the globe.

It took the real Columbia 3 years to sail around the world, but your voyage will last about 15 minutes.

Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough

Explore winding passageways where the epic tale of Princess Aurora is told through spellbinding dioramas.

Inspired by the film’s original Eyvind Earle artwork, this iconic attraction features 3-dimensional displays, sound and stunning special effects. Don’t miss the climactic final scene, when Maleficent transforms into a fire-breathing dragon.

Snow White's Scary Adventures

Settle into a wooden mine cart and accompany Snow White as she flees from the evil Queen.

“Whistle While You Work” at the cozy cottage of the Seven Dwarfs. Visit dazzling mines filled with glowing gems. Then, proceed with caution into the dark and haunted forest—and the Queen’s sorcery chamber and spooky dungeons.

When all looks lost, will Snow White find her own happily ever after?

Storybook Land Canal Boats

Slip inside a 12-person boat for a gentle open-air tour of enchanting homes and villages from classic Disney movies.

The hand-built cottages, towns and palaces feature whimsical landscaping, charming music and special lighting effects. Listen closely as your tour guide tells the tale behind each picturesque tableau.

Tarzan's Treehouse

Your adventure begins as you clamber up a tree stump and cross a rope bridge high in the sky. Overgrown with vines and constructed out of parts salvaged from his tragic shipwreck, the tree house features ingenious inventions and vignettes from Tarzan’s epic life story.

Peruse drawings from Jane’s sketchbook that tell the tale of the young English lord who was marooned in the jungle, orphaned and raised by a tribe of gorillas. The tree’s scientific name is Disneydendron semperflorens grandis or “large ever-blooming Disney tree” and some incredible views await you at the top!
