What You Need To Know

The Downtown Disney District is open with select retail and dining locations.

They have implemented new health and safety measures based on guidance from health authorities, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and appropriate government agencies.

For Cast Members, Operating Participant employees and Guests, there are 6 key things to expect when visiting the Downtown Disney District:

  • Parking at the Simba Lot only and clearly defined entrances to the Downtown Disney District
  • Temperature screenings prior to entry
  • Face coverings are required for Guests ages 2 and older
  • Physical distancing measures, including physically-distanced queues and seating, and physical barriers at select locations
  • Temporary operations modifications, including reduced hours at select locations and the suspension of entertainment offerings and high-touch interactive areas
  • An increased focus on cleaning and sanitation, including the addition of hand-washing stations and hand sanitizers in key areas

Since many of these measures are new, and may evolve, they want to be sure Guests, Cast Members and Operating Participant employees are aware of all these changes before they arrive.

While You Wait

There's still a lot of time before Disney parks are open so what can you do to get your Disney fix while the parks are closed? We're big Disney fans and have compiled a list of some fun ways to pass the time.

  • If you haven't already done so, you have to watch 'The Imagineering Story' on Disney+. This 6 part documentary series takes you behind the scenes with the very Imagineers that developed and built the Disney theme parks.
This documentary was created by non other than Leslie Iwerks, Adademy Award-nominated filmmaker and granddaughter of Ub Iwerks, Walt Disney's oldest friend who created Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Mickey Mouse alongside Walt.
  • Go to Magic Moments on the Disney blog site to get your Disney fix!
