What You Need To Know

Phased Reopening of the Disneyland Resort Set to Beging April 30, 2021.
While the Disneyland Resort is currently closed, we are pleased to share the proposed plans for a phased reopening:
Disneyland Resort Phased Reopening and Important Information
  • Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure park will reopen on April 30, 2021. View important details about park admission and tickets.
  • To enter a park, both a park reservation and valid ticket, for the same park on the same date, are required for Guests age 3 and older. Until further notice, only California residents may visit the parks, and in groups no larger than 3 households, per state guidelines.
  • Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will reopen on April 29, 2021. The Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel remain closed and will reopen at a later date. View important details about Disneyland Resort hotels.
  • The Downtown Disney District is open with select retail and dining locations.
  • A Touch of Disney, the new limited-time ticketed experience at Disney California Adventure Park, which has sold out, will go on as planned through April 19, 2021.
  • Upon reopening, certain parks, hotels, restaurants, attractions, experiences and other offerings will be modified or unavailable, will have limited capacity and will be subject to limited availability or even closure, and park admission and offerings are not guaranteed. While You Wait

There's still a lot of time before Disney parks are open so what can you do to get your Disney fix while the parks are closed? We're big Disney fans and have compiled a list of some fun ways to pass the time.

  • If you haven't already done so, you have to watch 'The Imagineering Story' on Disney+. This 6 part documentary series takes you behind the scenes with the very Imagineers that developed and built the Disney theme parks. 
    This documentary was created by non other than Leslie Iwerks, Adademy Award-nominated filmmaker and granddaughter of Ub Iwerks, Walt Disney's oldest friend who created Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Mickey Mouse alongside Walt.

Golden Zephyr

Goofy's Sky School

Climb aboard your flight-training vehicle and hang on tight as you take off 3 stories in the air. Zip along 1,200 feet of track on a zany roller coaster ride up, down and all around. 

This silly school is appropriate for smaller aspiring pilots—no previous flight experience necessary!

Grizzly River Run

Strap into a circular 8-person raft and drift along a lazy river, passing the rusty remnants of an old mining company. Rumble up to the top of the mountain and brace yourself for an exhilarating descent down Grizzly River on a wild river ride.

Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind

Inspired by the Disney and Pixar film Inside Out, this fun family-friendly attraction invites you to step into the workplace of Riley’s Emotions—Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and Anger.

Your adventure begins when you hop aboard one of 8 Memory Movers, each uniquely colored to evoke one of Riley’s Emotions or another exuberant character from her imagination.

You’ll find yourself surrounded by vibrant shelves packed with glowing recollections as the Memory Movers ascend in unison, fly in a circle and inspire you to create your own happy memory of this experience.

Jessie's Critter Carousel

Mosey on over to a giant toy carousel starring Jessie the Yodeling Cowgirl. Inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 2, hop aboard a cute desert critter from the world of Woody’s Roundup for a rootin’, tootin’ romp that’ll have you yelling “giddyup!”

Jumpin' Jellyfish

Swim over to one of 12 jellyfish and ascend a towering 40-foot tall kelp bed. At the top, take in sweeping views of Paradise Bay before gracefully gliding down and then up—again and again—as you slowly make your way back to the ground. 

This whimsical parachute-style ride lasts approximately 90 seconds and is designed with little guppies in mind.

Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters

Casa Della Tires’ storage yard has been converted into a little piece of Italy, and Luigi’s freewheeling family can’t wait to welcome you aboard as they perform traditional “dances” from the old country. Ride along as your “car-eographed” roadster weaves and whirls to “The Tire-antella,” “Mambo Italiano” and more.

Mater's Junkyard Jamboree

Mater’s rounded up a herd of lively tractors for some old-fashioned square dancing out in his junkyard—and you’re invited to join the party.

Haul yourself into a tractor-trailer and hold on tight as it whips and whirls in “figure eight” moves around the dancefloor. Mater croons the tunes that keep this shindig swingin’ til you’re all tire-d out.

Mickey's PhilharMagic

Head over to the Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land to catch this spectacular 3D fantasy adventure featuring many beloved Disney characters!

As the lights dim, we find Donald Duck fast asleep. Mickey Mouse appears with music in hand and wakes Donald before rushing offstage to ready the show. As Donald warms up the orchestra, he spots the conductor’s baton and Mickey’s Sorcerer’s Hat. Deciding to try his hand at conducting the concert, he’s suddenly plunged into a 3D dream world of classic Disney animated musical sequences.

Iconic Songs in Unforgettable Settings
Experience “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast, “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid, “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King” from The Lion King and “You Can Fly” from Peter Pan—plus many more—presented for the first time in stunning 3D.

Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!

Venture inside the Monstropolis Transit Terminal and hail a taxi cab for a tour of the town. As your journey begins, an emergency “special report” is unexpectedly broadcast inside your cab—a human child is loose in Monstropolis and must be caught!

Help friendly monsters Mike and Sulley as they race to return little girl Boo safely to her home.

Pixar Pal-A-Round

Ready for a ride on the wild side? Lift off and soar 150 feet into the air for incredible panoramic vistas of Disney California Adventure Park—and beyond!

As you travel around the wheel, your gondola also sways and slides forward and backwards on interior rails for an extra thrilling experience.

Each gondola features the image of a different Disney and Pixar character. Spot favorites like Woody, Buzz, Dory, Nemo, Mr. Incredible, Joy, Sadness, Lightning McQueen and more.

Radiator Springs Racers

Kick the fun into overdrive as you buckle up for a road race featuring familiar car-acters, fantastic scenery and “wheel” thrills. 

Tour Ornament Valley and arrive in Radiator Springs—the cutest little town in Carburetor County—where the movie Cars springs to life. 

As you prep for the big race, all the locals show up to help. Mater, Lightning McQueen, Doc Hudson, Sally, Luigi, Guido, Mack and Ramone are all rooting for you! 

Take a quick spin into either Luigi's Casa Della Tires or Ramone’s House of Body Art to get a racing makeover—then hit the road.

Redwood Creek Challenge Trail

Encounter the Great Outdoors along the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. Explore the area in any order you wish and enjoy a “forest” range of activities for everyone.

Practice the art of traverse climbing at the Cliff Hanger Traverse Rock Climb. Glide down a natural rock slide. Clamber up the ropes course to the lookout towers high above the tree line. Practice your park ranger skills on the tire swing at Sequoia Smokejumpers Training Tower.

Experience the carefree thrill of flying as this classic ride carries you aloft for breathtaking views of all the park excitement below.

Soarin' Over California

You’ve flown around the world, but there’s no place like home. Soarin’ Over California is back to thrill a whole new generation!

The journey begins as the foggy clouds of San Francisco part to reveal the sprawling expanses of the Golden Gate Bridge. Explore picturesque locations including Yosemite National Park, Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe, Palm Springs, San Diego harbor, Malibu at dusk and the frenetic lights of downtown Los Angeles, before returning for a triumphant flight over Disneyland Park.

No matter your age, you'll be unable to resist smiling on this pleasant journey filled with excitement, wonder and awe-inspiring vistas.

Tour a working replica of the famous Boudin Bakery in San Francisco and bite into a delicious sample of freshly baked bread.

Follow along with your digital hosts as they explain how the luscious loaves are made. Watch expert bakers turn dough into the delectable bread that’s been delighting San Franciscans for over 150 years.

Check out fascinating sketches, paintings and 3D models to gain a better understanding of how artists, architects and engineers at Walt Disney Imagineering designed the reimagined Pixar Pier using classic seaside boardwalks of California as sources of inspiration.

You’ll also learn a little more about the themed attractions, entertainment and eclectic characters that populate the 4 distinct neighborhoods of Pixar Pier.

Blue Sky Cellar highlights include:
